Property/House For Sale/To Let in Exmouth, Near Woodbury Common Devon EX8
Welcome to Marley House
Marley House is a Devon sanctuary. This haven is set within approximately 3 acres of private mature gardens. The property boasts magnificent sea and estuary views looking down over the town of Exmouth and toward Berry Head.
Marley House is constructed on the site and within the original stone balustrade of a former Manor House, built in 1867 in the Italian Renaissance style, which arguably was the most expensive house ever to have been built in Devon. Apart from the stone balustrade, the only surviving fragment is the arch that would have lead to the stables. Sadly the ornate mansion, it’s content and fabric were sold in 700 lots in June 1930. More information concerning the property can be viewed in the book Vanished Houses of South Devon by Rosemary Lauder, published in 1997 by North Devon Books.
The estuary and south coast of Devon views are spectacular and can be enjoyed from most rooms in the house.
The House is offered to the market with vacant possession at a Guide of £1.5m (one million five hundred thousand pounds sterling) or can be rented for 2500GBP per calendar month. The owners will also consider "try before you buy" options.
Viewings are strictly by appointment with sole agents Winkworth South West 01392 422320
